Jennifer Long is a UCC pastor who will be serving half-time as interim minister at Spring Hill United Church of Christ, beginning August 1st, 2024. She is excited to be serving SHUCC community at this important time in its history.
In almost 30 years of ministry, she has served in staff, solo, and interim roles as well as serving as a consultant in church conflict. Her most recent position was as an ecumenical partner serving a Lutheran (ELCA) congregation in the Southern Tier of New York. Along with her part time call, Pastor Jennifer is an associate faculty member at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family, a facilitator for Healthy Congregations Leadership Series and GPS for Leadership, and one of leaders for the first-year cohort in the UCC’s Next Generation Leadership Initiative. She is a graduate of the University of Hartford (1992) and Eden Theological Seminary (1996).
Jennifer wears a variety of hats in her family: wife, mother of two, oldest sister, and daughter of an only son and middle daughter. She enjoys hiking, reading, playing cards, and laughing out loud. She also cultivates curiosity around connections between Bowen Family System Theory, spirituality, religious practice, and church conflict.
