About our Thanksgiving Hot Meals Program
The Community Outreach Ministry Team is once again supporting the Angel Tree Giving Project for Spring Hill Elementary School and The Senior Giving Tree.
This coming Sunday, November 24th, three trees will be set up in the church lobby with color-coded gift tags:
Please select a tag (or tags), purchase the suggested items, and return the gifts to the church with the tag no later than Sunday, December 8th.
Community Outreach Ministry members will be available to assist you in the process of selecting name(s) and filling out the sign-up sheet. Written directions will also be available regarding wrapping and tagging the gifts.
If you are unable to go shopping, members of the Community Outreach Ministry will be happy to receive your donation and shop for you. Please contact the church office if you have any questions.
‘Tis the season, so we could use volunteers to help put up Christmas decorations to make the church sparkle this holiday season. If you can volunteer on Wednesday, December 4th at 10 am at the
church, please let us know by sending an email to our decoration team leaders:
The Book: Everything Happens for a Reason: And Other Lies I've Loved by Kate Bowler
This book by Kate Bowler has been billed as: “A meditation on sense-making when there’s no sense to be made, on letting go when we can’t hold on, and on being unafraid even when we’re terrified. And it happens to be hilarious. Above all, though, this is a love letter to life, and it’s gorgeous.” [Lucy Kalanithi, MD, FACP, clinical assistant professor of medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine] making it a perfect companion through the season of Advent.
The study will look at two chapters each week and look for places it intersects with both our lives and the Advent and Christmas narratives. The class will meet Sunday mornings at 9am on December 1, 8, 15 and 22. The book can be bought on amazon.com.
If you're interested, sign up using the registration sheet in the church lobby, or email Pastor Jennifer by clicking the button below.
