This Saturday, March 15th - our next Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry will be from 9-11am. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8am to help us distribute food to hundreds of our neighbors in need. Please bring plastic grocery bags, and if you are able to take home and recycle cardboard, plastic bottles or cans, our Environmental Team would greatly appreciate it.

Continuing next Monday, March 17th - from 5:30 - 7pm in Fellowship Hall, Kurt Glacy will lead a discussion on courage and resilience. Readings for this week are Ezekiel chapters 1-4. On March 25th, we will delve into Habakkuk chapters 1 and 2.
The class will meet in Fellowship Hall on Monday evenings through April 14th. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dinner dish to share. Each session will start with a short prayer and covered-dish dinner from 5:30 - 6pm, and be followed by a conversation about the readings and implications for today from 6 - 7pm.

Resuming on Thursday, March 20th - a 6pm online book study via Zoom will focus on “Falling Upward: Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life.” The revised and updated edition of this popular book offers practical guidance to find love and meaning in a world of suffering and challenge.

Beginning Sunday May 4th at 9am - Linda Bixby will be leading a Bible Study Class on the book of Deuteronomy - the last and definitive book of the Torah. Explore the shape and substance of Israel’s faith, and the main themes characteristic of Judaism and by extension, of Christianity. Watch this space for more details next month.
Through this Friday, March 14th - the UCC’s Vote for Climate Hope Contest will be accepting artwork submissions. The theme this year is “Planting Seeds of Hope.” SHUCC children and youth are invited to draw, paint, or color works of art that bring this theme to life. You can download a coloring page to print for your kids or grandkids, then submit their artwork online.
Tuesday, March 18th - the Environmental Ministry will meet at 7pm in the conference room.
Saturday, March 29th from 7 - 8am - the Environmental ministry will be holding a road cleanup focusing on the area around the church.
The Entire Month of March, we’re holding a recycling drive, including asking everyone to recycle neckties, bottle caps and rinsed plastic straws. Please bring donations to the front desk at church on Sunday.
Through the end of March - We are collecting new adult size socks all month. Your conations will be taken to People Helping People in Spring Hill for the Homeless community in our area. You can drop your donations in the bin in the lobby.
Wednesday, March 19th - the Ladies Luncheon will be at Noon at the Wellington.
Also on Wednesday, March 19th - our friends at Volunteer Way are holding a Saturday Matinee Quarter Auction from 2-6:30pm in New Port Richey. Learn more on their event web page.
March 18th & 19th in Tallahassee - Equality Florida is hosting a two-day Pride at the Capitol Legislative Kickoff Event to focus attention on LGBTQ issues.
March 20th in Tallahassee - the second annual Let Us Live rally will run from 8am-noon, including a march to the Old Capitol steps and a rally featuring trans leaders and pro-equality lawmakers. More information is available from the Equality Florida website.

The Food for Thought initiative collects healthy snacks for Spring Hill Elementary School (SHES). We need large boxes of cereal (e.g. Honey Nut Cheerios) and snacks (e.g. Pretzels, Goldfish, or Animal Crackers). Please drop off donated items in the Food for Thought bin in the church lobby.
The St. Pauly Clothing Shed in the rear of the church collects gently used clothing and other items for families in need. Please donate clothing, shoes, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, curtains, and stuffed animals. Please do not bring electronics, books, household items, toys, pillows, garbage, rags or fabric scraps.
We have volunteer opportunities for Sunday service greeters, welcome desk attendants, and liturgists. You can learn more and sign up at the welcome desk in the church lobby on Sunday.
